The Peacock

The Peacock is a great 12-mile XC route out of the Margaret McKenny trailhead and utilizing the McKenny and Mima Falls trails. Why's it called The Peacock? Legend has it there was a peacock farm off of Waddell Creek Road, and a few of the critters escaped. Some folks even swear they've seen one out on this loop. But, you're probably more likely to run into Sasquatch. The trails are up and down, with several sustained climbs followed by sustained descents. The route can be ridden in either direction, or can be accessed from the Mima Falls trailhead utilizing the Mima Falls West or Campground trails to get out to the loop.
